Adoption Tax Credit. Effective January 1,2002 the IRS allowed for a Tax Credit of up to $10,000 of adoption expenses. For the 2003 tax year, the amount was increased to $10,160. This is a credit against your tax liability, not a deduction. To learn more click here.
