We started with a major agency and they had a lot of resources to offer. But they lacked the personal touch. Every time you called in to the agency, you spoke to whoever was available and they looked you up on a computer. When we moved to A Helping Hand, we had one contact person that thoroughly knew our specific situation. Not only did Tony know our situation, but he cared deeply about our adoption. When our adoption looked as if it would fall through, Tony was crying with us; when the referral did finally come through, you would have thought it was Tony's referral that had come from China, he was so happy. I now know that the deep caring for each and every adoption comes about through the ongoing frequent prayer for each family by Tony and the entire board of directors of A Helping Hand. Every family that signs on to adopt through A Helping Hand is being continually prayed for. I know that our adoption ran into almost every snag conceivable and at times the stress level was incredible, but we couldn't have made it to get our wonderful Sarah if it had not been for the love of Tony and the prayer support of all of A Helping Hand. There are a lot of agencies that can shuffle your paperwork, but there are few organizations that can provide this kind of support, love and prayer while you go through the anxiety of adopting. - Richard & Deb McInteer
