There are certainly a lot of rumors going on out there right now, aren't there?
AHH and the AHH staff can not comment or respond officially to any "rumors". We can and will, however, comment on information that is provided to use directly from the CCAA. We can tell you that no report of this kind has been received.
There is light at the end of the tunnel, however. (drum roll please. . . )
AHH’s China staff will be attending the annual CCAA meeting next week in Beijing. This meeting usually takes place at the end of the year, and CCAA officials meet with representatives from all agencies who have licenses with the CCAA. Among other things, this meeting reviews existing policies, provides updates on the number of children placed within the past year as well as other kinds of stats, and outlines new rules and policies that will go into affect in 2006. Our 11 years experience with the CCAA tells us is that this meeting will place an end to all the rumors, and either confirm them or dispel them for good. When our AHH China staff sends us the summary of that meeting, we will review it and get any and all pertinent information out to our parents as quickly as possible via email and this web site.
Until that time, we hope that you understand that we can not respond to the MANY rumors going around. You can be assured, and take confidence in, the fact that we will only communicate information provided to us directly from the CCAA.
Please just hold tight until we have some actual news to give you. Please keep in mind, that we understand that the issue of a potential extended referral time is a very sensitive and emotional one for many of our families. Next to each of the parents, no one wants you to be united with your daughter and/or son more than we do here at AHH. We can only remind our families that this is a fluid process, and sometimes this is the nature of international adoption. We encourage you all to wait to hear from us with official word on any and all changes the CCAA may implementing for 2006.
Please, have a warm, grateful Thanksgiving Holiday
