Playgrounds for Chinese Orphans
(Updated 5/1/2008)
Several years ago A Helping Hand provided assistance in building outdoor playgrounds for orphanages in China. Hundreds of children, many of those with Special Needs, were blessed with an opportunity to play outside and swing on a swing, slide from a slide, crawl and run and clime up and down in the jungle gym. These playgrounds provide lots of fun and have a therapeutic effect by helping children develop motor skills.

You probably heard about a snow disaster that hit China in February. Our Chinese friends told us that many orphanages in Hunan and Anhui provinces suffered from heavy snow and ice storms. After much prayer and seeking the Lord we decided to help those orphanages and build outdoor playgrounds for them. At the end of March, A Helping
Hand was able to contribute $2,500 toward building of playgrounds in three orphanages in China. Praise the Lord! We are still praying for more funds to be available for this project. Our plan is to help up to ten orphanages and each playground set costs 7,000 RMB which is $1,000 .This need is still urgent,as the restoration in these provinces is underway and we pray and believe that the Lord will provide for this project. If you would like to partner with A Helping Hand in this project please send your donations marked “China Playground” or donate on-line.
